Engli-X
Status: April 2026 – Present
Phase: Early-Stage – Research Collaboration
Client: Engli-X
Talent2Impact is supporting an early-stage applied research and innovation initiative in the language acquisition and adult literacy space. The project explores a translational research question at the intersection of second-language pronunciation, cognitive load, and script-based phonographic representation. The goal is to build the foundational evidence base needed to advance toward a formal pilot study and academic institutional partnership.
Engli-X is developing a novel approach called Localized PhonoGraphy (LPG), which enables adult English language learners, particularly immigrants and newcomers with limited familiarity with the Latin alphabet, to access English pronunciation through their native script. Engli-X is envisioned as a scalable framework rather than a single-language concept. To support this vision, eight early-stage prototype pathways are being explored across eight major languages spoken by major immigrant populations in Canada. For example, EngliFa is specifically designed for Farsi-speaking learners.
Current Deliverables & Services:
Research Landscape & Protocol Assessment: Conducting targeted literature scans across applied linguistics and psycholinguistics to establish the novelty of the LPG framework
Collaborator Outreach Support: Assisting in identifying and reaching out to potential academic collaborators and research team members to strengthen the project's research capacity
Project Onboarding & Research Documentation: Reviewing project background materials and preparing structured research documentation to support engagement setup
